 Shelly was born in Charlotte, NC and grew up in the Huntersville/Lake Norman area. She attended North Mecklenburg High School and went to Brookstone College. After graduation she worked for Southwire Company as an inside sales agent.

Deciding it was time for a change and some flexibility in her life, she went to work as an assistant to a top producing Realtor in 1995. It was just a few mere months in the business when her boss noticed the potential for success and encouraged Shelly to get her real estate license. As a team, they won numerous top producer honors month after month.  In 1999 Shelly was invited to join Re/Max Executive Realty, a company whose standards are high and consist of only top producing, full time professionals.  In 2008 Shelly joined Carolinas Home Place.

Shelly enjoys spending time with her husband, Bill and son, Gunnar.  She makes time to see her family weekly and has a great sense of family values.  She also likes to travel, take walks, ride bikes, watch auto racing, attend Panther games and loves to shop!  Anytime she spends with Gunnar is always special including numerous trips to Carowinds, the park and swimming!

"We met Shelly in 2002 when, by chance, we stumbled upon her website.  We were living in Columbus, Ohio and were relocating to Charlotte.  We were impressed with her credentials and experience within the Charlotte market.  In fact, my company’s relocation package already included a pre-approved real estate agent, but after talking with Shelly, we insisted that she be allowed to represent us.  Our transition to Charlotte was so easy because of her.  She was very patient and made a great effort to help us find the right home for our family—our kids were ages 4 and 2 at the time.  When we found the home we wanted, Shelly handled every detail involved, overlooking absolutely nothing.  She even negotiated a swing set which we chuckle about today.
